Founders and Staff
John is co-founder of Eliminate Poverty NOW and has focused his "second career" on creating economic opportunity in the developing world. Prior to EPN, John spent 26 years in business, including 16 years as president of divisions of Kraft Foods and Warner-Lambert. John has a BA and MBA from Harvard University.
When he is not devoting time to EPN, John enjoys hiking in the Colorado mountains, traveling, and watching UConn Women’s basketball. He also enjoys photography, good food (especially dessert), flowers, and dogs.
Judy is a co-founder of Eliminate Poverty NOW. Along with her husband, John, EPN has allowed her to live out her passion for helping poor women achieve greater earnings potential. When Judy is not working with EPN, she enjoys spending time with her family, contributing to and volunteering in the Jewish community, spinning, weaving, knitting, vegetable gardening and cooking, and word games and puzzles.
Helen is the Director of Operations at Eliminate Poverty NOW, with responsibility for overseeing the internal workings of the organization. Working for EPN has offered her the extraordinary opportunity to visit Africa, meet amazing people, and help end extreme poverty in Africa. When Helen is not working with EPN, she most enjoys quality time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Her hobbies are reading, knitting and cooking.
After a January 2018 trip to Africa, Sam realized that he could make a difference for EPN with social media fundraising and information technology consulting. Sam runs EPN's Little Rock Scholars University Scholarship program and consults on anything related to information technology. Sam has a BA from Haverford and a business degree from MIT Sloan.
Sam enjoys travelling, being outdoors, playing and watching sports, and eating good food.
